You can use the JR Setouchi Area Pass for unlimited travel on designated JR train lines (including shinkansen) and selected trams, buses and ferries in the region around the Seto Inland Sea for 7 consecutive days.
Setouchi Area Pass is valid for unlimited travel in the valid area on the map
Valid trains are below;
- The pass can be used for reserved and non-reserved seats on Bullet Train “SANYO SHINKANSEN” (Shin-Osaka⇔Hakata). The pass can also be used for the Hello Kitty Shinkansen.
- The pass can be used for reserved and non-reserved seats on Limited Express trains (HARUKA, SHIOKAZE, NAMPU, etc.)
The pass can be used for reserved and non-reserved seats on JR-WEST and JRSHIKOKU Rapid Service Marine Liner and local service trains (including Special Rapid and Rapid Service trains).
Reserved seat tickets must be reserved at a JR-WEST or JR-SHIKOKU station ticket office before boarding the train.
The trains below cannot be used
- Bullet Train “TOKAIDO SHINKANSEN” (Shin-Osaka⇔Tokyo)
- Bullet Train “KYUSHU SHINKANSEN” (Hakata⇔Kagoshima-Chuo)

Present your Exchange Order: When you visit the Japan Rail Pass Exchange Office, present your Exchange Order along with your passport. Make sure to have your passport with you, as it will be required for verification purposes.
Choose the validity period: At the exchange office, you will be asked to choose the start date for your Japan Rail Pass. The pass can be activated on any day within 30 days of the exchange, but once activated, the validity period cannot be changed.
Complete the application form: You will need to fill out an application form with your personal details, including your name, passport number, and duration of stay. The form is usually available at the exchange office, and staff will assist you if needed.
