SIM Card Info

Important Information – SIM Card/ eSIM

  • The SIM Card or eSIM must be utilized within 60 days from date of purchase & non-refundable. Once connected to the destination’s local network, the SIM or eSIM will be activated automatically.
    Example:
    You purchased a SIM card/eSIM on August 1st. (60 days is valid until September 30th).
    The first day of activating the SIM/eSIM must be before September 30th.
  • SIM card or eSIM is Data-Only and does not come with a number. Traditional calls or text messages are not permitted. You can use Apps like WhatsApp/WeChat to access local data to make calls or send messages without paying pesky roaming charges and easily stay connected while traveling abroad.
  • (China/Hong Kong/Taiwan/Macau) The Chinese government requires real-name registration for SIM card /eSIM activation. Please email a copy of your passport copy valid for 6 months to email (enquiry@his-world.com). Please note that one passport can only activate one card.

iOS Phone SIM Card Setting

Step 1:
Upon arrival at your destination, insert the SIM card into your phone. Make sure to turn on the Data Service and Data Roaming in your phone settings. 

Step 2:
Please wait for about 3 minutes. The SIM card will automatically search for a network. You might see some messages pop up on your screen during the setting. Just go ahead and click on the “OK” button to move on to the next step.

Step 3:
After 3 minutes, the setup should be done. Your phone should show that it has a signal and display the name of the carrier. You will be all set to start exploring the amazing world of the internet! If it’s still not working, try turning your phone off and on again.

Additional Information:
  • If you are unable to connect, it may be because you do not have good mobile signal coverage in your location. In this case, try turning off your phone and turning it back on at another location.
  • If you are crossing the border into another country, some phones might need to be restarted twice.
  • When you return to your home country after traveling, please switch to your own local SIM card. Don’t forget to turn off the data roaming on your phone to avoid unnecessary roaming charges.

iOS Phone eSIM installation

Before installing the eSIM, it is imperative to ensure that you have an active internet connection, either through WiFi or another mobile data plan. This will ensure a seamless installation process and prevent any potential disruptions.

For Apple iPhones and iPads:
Step 1 : Go to Settings and then Cellular/Mobile Data , tap on Add eSIM and then Use QR Code.
Step 2 : Install QR code by 2options:
a) Scan QR code from the email by using other devices or print out (You may print the QR code's email before departure). Position the QR code in the box and wait for system identify your new plan.
b) Select enter details manually. Copy and paste the codes. The system will identify that your new plan is ready to be installed. Notes: Please note that the QR code can only be scanned once. Do not remove the eSIM from your device as you will not be able to use it again.

Step 3 : Select the new plan and tap continue. Rename the line as "HISTravel".
Step 4 : eSIM is for data use only (no SMS or calls). Select the HIS line as your default line. Also, select HIS for iMessage and FaceTime. Keep in mind that if you choose your primary line, it means your original phone number SIM card is still active, so your network provider may charge data roaming charges for incoming or outgoing calls and SMS text messages.
Step 5 : Next, select HIS as your Cellular Data option. It is really important that you disable/turn off the allow data mobile switching option. This is prevent extra roaming charges on your bill.
Step 6 : Once you arrived in the destination, go to Settings and then Cellular/Mobile Data. Select the HIS eSIM and active this line and turn on data roaming.
Step 7 : Go back to the Cellular/Mobile Data and make sure the HIS line is selected as default at cellular data.
Step 8 : Done, your eSIM is now active.

Android Phone SIM Card Setting

Step 1:
Upon arrival at your destination, insert the SIM card into your phone. (For Dual SIM phone users, please insert the SIM into SIM Slot 1 and make sure your data service is set to SIM 1).

Step 2:
Please switch on the Data Service and Data Roaming on your phone (For Dual SIM phone users, if you have inserted 2 SIM cards, please check and confirm the data roaming and data service are set on SIM 1). Please wait for about 3 minutes, the SIM will search for the network automatically. You might see some messages pop up on your screen during the setting. Just go ahead and click on the “OK” button to move on to the next step.

Step 3:

Step 5 : Turn off your mobile network/existing data plan
Step 6 : Turn on data roaming
Step 7 : Done, your eSIM is now active.

Do not forget to enable mobile data. Once you’ve landed at your destination, please turn off your primary default line to avoid any unnecessary roaming charges.
