Get your unlimited rides on ordinary reserved and non reserved seats on the Sanyo Shinkansen and Kyushu Shinkansen

More Information

Unlimited use of local, rapid and limited express JR trains in the coverage area shown on the map above, including trains along the Chizukyu Express Line between Kamigori and Chizu, a non-JR line that provides the fastest train access to Tottori. In Kyushu, the pass is not valid south of Oita and Misumi.

Unlimited use of the Sanyo Shinkansen (including Nozomi and Mizuho) between ShinOsaka and Fukuoka’s Hakata Station, the Kyushu Shinkansen between Hakata and Kumamoto, and the Nishikyushu Shinkansen. The Tokaido Shinkansen between Kyoto and Osaka is not covered.

Seat reservations can be made at no additional cost at ticket offices. The first si reservations can alternatively be made at ticket machines, but subsequent ones can be made only at ticket offices.

Unlimited use of the Kyoto Tango Railway, which provides access to Amanohashidate

Unlimited use of JR ferry to Miyajima

Unlimited use of local JR buses around Kyoto, Hiroshima and Yamaguchi, including buses between Kyoto Station, Takao and Shuzan, and between Yamaguchi, Hagi and Akiyoshidai

Free use of rental bicycles at designated Ekirin Kun outlets within the covered area.
You can use the JR Sanyo-San’in Northern Kyushu Area Pass for unlimited rides on designated JR train lines in the Chugoku Region, northern Kyushu and parts of the Kansai Region for 7 consecutive days.

Reminders

  • JR tickets operate under a registration system, with a very complicated booking process. Therefore, please ensure that you have provided the required information in order to make a purchase. Please bear in mind that H.I.S Travel Malaysia is not liable for any delays due to insufficient or incorrect information provided by travelers
  • Children require a child pass if occupying a seat in a reserved-seat carriage or traveling alone
  • Luggage Restrictions: passengers may bring up to two pieces of luggage, not including carry-ons and smaller bags. Each piece may not weigh more than 30kg and its length, width and depth may not add up to more than 250cm, while its length may not exceed 200cm

Refund Policy

  • [Refund Policy] For any “Exchange Order Voucher” that have not been exchanged into an “Official Pass” you can apply for a refund within 11 months from the purchased date. However, a 15% cancellation fee will be charged. Please ensure that you keep your vouchers safe as we cannot issue new passes or process refunds if passes are lost, stolen or partially used

Steps on How to Redeem Exchange Order JR Pass in Japan

Purchase the Japan Rail Pass Exchange OrderTo exchange your Japan Rail Pass Exchange Order for the actual Japan Rail Pass, you will need to follow these steps:

Arrive in JapanPurchase the Japan Rail Pass Exchange Order: The Japan Rail Pass cannot be purchased directly in Japan. You need to buy an Exchange Order from an authorised sales office or an authorised travel agent before arriving in Japan.

Present your Exchange OrderArrive in Japan: Once you arrive in Japan, locate a Japan Rail Pass Exchange Office. These offices are usually found in major airports, including Narita, Haneda, Kansai, and other major train stations.

Choose the validity periodPresent your Exchange Order: When you visit the Japan Rail Pass Exchange Office, present your Exchange Order along with your passport. Make sure to have your passport with you, as it will be required for verification purposes.

Complete the application formChoose the validity period: At the exchange office, you will be asked to choose the start date for your Japan Rail Pass. The pass can be activated on any day within 30 days of the exchange, but once activated, the validity period cannot be changed.

Receive your Japan Rail PassComplete the application form: You will need to fill out an application form with your personal details, including your name, passport number, and duration of stay. The form is usually available at the exchange office, and staff will assist you if needed.

Receive your Japan Rail PassReceive your Japan Rail Pass: After completing the form and verification done, the staff will provide you with the actual Japan Rail Pass. The pass consists of a paper ticket and a small booklet containing important information about the pass, including rules and instructions.

Remember to keep your Japan Rail Pass with you at all times during your travel in Japan, as you may be required to show it to the staff when entering and exiting the train stations or boarding the trains.
